Train For Treatment
is a program through which athletes and non-athletes
can support, meet, raise money and train on behalf of
young hemophilia patients of the Mary M. Gooley
Hemophilia Center. Additionally, people who raise $300
or more can race for free. Visit the Train for
Treatment campaign at

Train For Treatment demonstrates the real
motivation behind why we do the Finger Lakes
Triathlon.

Each registered Finger Lakes Triathlon Train For
Treatment athlete, is immediately partnered with one
of our young patients - their "tribuddy." Athletes
receive an information packet about their tribuddy
containing a personal profile of the patient,
including what he goes through each day in living with
a bleeding disorder, and what the Center has done to
make a positive impact on his life. Athletes also gain
a personal understanding of the daily challenges faced
by the parents of our young patients.
Tell your friends and neighbors that kids can still
register at packet pickup, but there are not many
slots left.
With only one week to go please check the website for
any updates as well as wave starts. Remember that the
race starts at 7:30am.
Packet Pickup: All
athletes need to bring a photo ID and a USAT card if
you signed up as a USAT member.
You must show up in person to pick up your packet.
NO ID NO RACE. All relay team members must be
present to pick up their race packets.
All relay team
members need to present to pick up their packets. (The
relay teams will receive their chip on a Velcro band.
Each athlete on the team wears this on their ankle.
The passing of the chip take places in the transition
area where the bike places their bike in the racks and
acts as the relay baton. Please also note that
the runner wears the bib number and the bike places
the bike number on their bike. The bike number
is sticky on the back)
All bike will be assigned to a row by number.
Rows will be odd on one side and even on the other.
MTB or fat tires will be move to a separate location
as to not break the bike racks.
Every athlete will receive a bike and helmet number as
well as a run number. Please have your run
number or body marking present to take your bike out
of TA at the end of the race. If neither is
visible you will need to wait until everyone else has
removed their bikes to retrieve yours.
It is the athletes responsibility to know the courses.
Please review all course maps in advance of the event.
For the beginner triathlete: If all else fails
ask a veteran for help. See
beginners tips here.

Note
to all athletes
What does a bag and clutter free
transition area mean?
This means you may bring
your gear into the TA with a bag but then must remove
your bag. After you have the gear you need in
transition please remove your bags, buckets, wagons,
carts and whatever you do not need to race with. This
ensures we have enough space for others around you.
Please make arrangements to give these things to a
love one or place them into your vehicle.
What
do you mean transition closes at 7:15am, but my race
doesn't start until later.
This means at 7:15am all
athlete need to have everything they need to race for
the start of the swim. (goggles, swim cap, wetsuit,
etc.) You will not be able to enter or re-enter the
transition until you are racing. The transition
will be staged and ready to go.
Notable
Volunteers:
Girl Scout Troop 98
Going to Australia and New Zealand
Remember those
girls who pass out the water out the Score This!!!
Multisport Series races? Well this April they
went to Mexico to work with Habitat for Humanity.
They have raised enough funds with their can drives,
aid station work, meat
raffles, cookie
selling, and gift certificate raffles. Now they are working towards going to Australia and
New Zealand in 2011. How can you help?
Bring those nickel refund bottles and cans in a bag to
one of the Score This!!! Multisport Series events and
they will take them back to the store. Every
nickel helps!!! Please bring all bottle
and can donations to the volunteer check in.
Ask them about the pierogi sale.
