Score This!!! now has one certified race director, Richard Clark,
that moved up from a level 1 certified race director to a level 2
certified race director. Currently he is one of four in the
North East USAT Region. This course includes information on the
latest in race directing methods, insurance/risk management
trends, and USAT sanctioning compliance. While the certification
course is not mandatory for race directors who sanction their
events with USA Triathlon, the program is extremely valuable to
both new and seasoned event directors. Completing the Race
Director Certification course shows that an event director is
mindful of keeping in touch with the latest industry trends t hat
will in turn allow better events to be produced. The level 2
course including mentoring, volunteering and furthering their
management skills.
Score This!!!, Inc now has three USAT Certified Race Directors on
their staff. Robert Giardini, Richard Clark, and Kellie Trybalski have
completed an 18-hour educational training weekend. This
course includes information on the latest in race directing
methods, insurance/risk management trends, and USAT sanctioning
compliance. While the certification course is not mandatory for
race directors who sanction their events with USA Triathlon, the
program is extremely valuable to both new and seasoned event
directors. Completing the Race Director Certification course shows
that an event director is mindful of keeping in touch with the
latest industry trends that will in turn allow better events to be
produced. While this course is not required for everyone, athletes
should expect more from race directors who are certified.

The Race Director Certification Program
launched its inaugural course at the 2007
USAT Congress. Race director certification is a 18-hour
education course that will take place over two days. The
culmination will be the awarding of certificates to race directors
who successfully complete the course. This course will address the
latest in race directing methods, insurance/risk management
trends, and USAT sanctioning compliance. While the certification
course is not mandatory for race directors who sanction their
events with USA Triathlon, we feel that the program is extremely
valuable to both new and seasoned event directors.
